Philip Morris International
Philip Morris International (PMI) is the world’s leading international tobacco company, with a diverse workforce of around 80,000 people, a revenue of approx. $ 75 bilion and net earnings of $ 7 bilion. They own six of the world's top international 15 brands, spanning more than 180 markets, including Marlboro, the world's number one. They operate 48 production facilities in 32 different countries.
At the time I worked there from their Lausanne HQ, I was an external consultant/project manager with Taleo (see separate portfolio). I started my career at Taleo on my first assignment with PMI, in the role of solution configuration consultant and learning 'on the job'. Thru a serie of solution delivery cycles for their talent processes in a few years time, I got well-aligned with their HR business.
As a result of that I was asked to support the HR team with a focus on talent processes, when moving towards HR Shared Services, as part of a wider and complex program that was led by IBM. And once they acquired Sampoerna, Indonesia's largest privately owned tobacco company, they asked me to integrate them into existing processes and solutions, from a talent management perspective.
If everything seems under control, you're not going fast enough.
Try not. Do, or do not. There is no try.
Develop success from failures. Discouragement and failure are two of the surest stepping stones to success.
